Cinquera Nature Reserve & Town.

This tour is for the active people and nature lovers that want to go a little deeper in local history and survival techniques that the rebels used during our past conflict...

A war-historic hike...

The adventure begins with a 30 min. Drive on a road with breath taking views to Lake Suchitlan and neghboring mountains and fields.

Once at the park entrance we will meet with Don Rafael, alias " Santos" during our past civil conflict.

 

Being a local farmer who was trained in Cuba as special forces sniper and served during all the conflict as a unit commander on the rebel's side. He will share his anecdotes and the farmer's point of view of war. 

 

After his speach we will be ready to enjoy the forest and interpret the remains of trenches, vietnamese kitchen, campsite, etc along the trail.

The hike itself is over rugged terrain and uneven steps. The trail is only 2miles. Going from 400 to 545 meters above sea level.

 

At the end of the hike we stop al El Salton waterfall for a quick swim! Bring swimsuit!

After the forest, we visit Cinquera's tiny village to interpret a couple of war related monuments and murals. From there we head back to Suchitoto.

 

Our Cinquera town & nature reserve tour goes from 7:30am to 12:30pm. 5hrs

Includes: Don Rafael, entrance to the reserve, water refill station, juice, cookies, transportation and bilingual guide.Costs: $50.00 p/p min 5 participants for the tour to run.
