Suchitoto Historic Tour + Los Tercios Waterfall.

Get inmersed into Suchitoto´s culture and history.

Let us take you on  chronological journey through the history of our country, focused on our beloved Suchit Tutut village.

We begin by driving 2km away from town to admire the columnar basalt formation of Los Tercios and its astonishing viewpoint to Lake Suchitlan.

Then we visit central plaza and talk about our colonial traditions and the beautifull Santa Lucia Church.

Followed by a visit to Arte Añil. Irma Guadron the most talented and emblematic indigo artist in Suchitoto will welcome us and show us her workshop as we cover colonial history based on Indigo.

Early 1900 cigar rolling got to be the economic engine in town. Nowdays the cigar rolling tradition has gone down to 1 cigar lady left... we visit Doña Laura and we get to roll with her!

Getting closer to present day life we stop at San Martin Plaza to talk about the "father of culture" Mr. Alejandro Coto and Mauricio Escobar, a local artist who made sculptures out of war leftover parts.

Our last stop will bring us to Arts For Peace Center

A violence prevention center through fomenting arts on the new generations.

Awesome proyect run by Sister Peggy O'neil, her vision of peace has made it possible to rescue the cultural and artistic level of Suchitoto.
